LtCol Jonathan C. Glover graduated from North Carolina State University in Dec 2001 with a degree in History. Upon completing The Basic School in March 2003, he proceeded to Ft. Sill, Oklahoma for Field Artillery Basic Officer Course where he graduated in Sept 2003. He was assigned to Battery C, 1st Battalion, 10th Marines, where he served as a Forward Observer.
LtCol Glover deployed to Fallujah, Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom in Oct 2004 while in Btry C as a provisional platoon commander. He was subsequently assigned as a Forward Observer for 2d Recon Bn during the Second Battle of Fallujah. He rejoined the battery and resumed his platoon commander duties once the city was secured. After redeploying, LtCol Glover assumed the duties as the Fire Direction Officer. In Jan 2006, LtCol Glover was assigned as the Wpns Co, XO 3rd Battalion, 8th Marines and deployed to Ramadi, Iraq from Feb-Aug.
Upon redeploying, in Oct 2006, LtCol Glover was assigned to 3rd Recruit Training Battalion, MCRD, Parris Island, SC. He served as a Series Commander (I Co) and Company Commander (L Co). He finished his tour as the S3A for the Recruit Training Regiment.
In Aug 2009, he was again assigned to 1st Battalion, 10th Marines and over the next three years served as the Assistant Fire Support Coordinator, Battery Commander (Battery B), Logistics Officer, and Operations Officer. While serving as a battery commander, the battalion deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom in Nov 2010. Battery B deployed to Kajaki as the battlespace owners and operated in support of RCT-2 and RCT-8 conducting a full range of military operations.
In July 2012, LtCol Glover assumed command of Recruiting Station, Cleveland. After a successfully completing a 36 month tour, he reported to Command and Staff College, Marine Corps University. Upon completion of resident PME, he also received a Master’s in Military Studies.
LtCo Glover received orders back to 1st Battalion, 10th Marines, in July 2016 and assumed the duties as the Assistant Fire Support Coordinator. In Nov, he deployed to Kuwait as the Deputy Fires Officer for CJTF-OIR. In May 2017, he was assigned as the Executive Officer. From Sept – Dec 17, he was the Acting Battalion Commander due the deployment of a third of the battalion as part of TF 9.7. LtCol Glover assumed the duties of 10th Marines, Executive Officer in January 2018. He served in that billet until assuming command of 2dBn, 10thMar in June 2019.
His personal decorations include a Bronze Star w/ V, Meritorious Service Medal, the Joint Commendation Medal, the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation with one Gold Star, the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal w/ V, and the Combat Action Ribbon with Gold Star.
