Executive Officer, 10th Marines
Lieutenant Colonel Ramon E. Pattugalan

Lieutenant Colonel Pattugalan is a native of Fontana, California. He graduated from the United States Naval Academy with a Bachelor of Science in General Engineering and was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in May 2004. 

As a company grade officer, his operational assignments include Forward Observer, Battery S, 5th Battalion, 10th Marines, attached to Company A, Battalion Landing Team, 1st Battalion, 8th Marines, 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit; Platoon Commander, Operational Test Platoon, Expeditionary Fire Support System; Operations and Fires Advisor, Military Transition Team 0122; Firepower Control Team Leader, 2d Air/Naval Gunfire Liaison Company; and Battery Commander, Battery A, Battalion Landing Team 1st Battalion, 4th Marines, 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit.

As a field grade officer, his operational assignments include Operations Officer, 1st Battalion, 11th Marines; Regimental Fire Direction Officer/Assistant Operations Officer, 11th Marines; Operations Officer and Executive Officer, 1st Battalion, 12th Marines; Regimental Assistant Fire Support Coordinator, 3d Marines; Targeting Officer, II Marine Expeditionary Force (MEF), Fires & Effects Coordination Center (FECC); and Assistant Chief of Staff, G-39/Deputy Fires and Effects Coordinator.

Lieutenant Colonel Pattugalan's operational deployments include 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit as the CENTCOM theater reserve and support to the Lebanon Non-combatant evacuation operation (NEO); Operation IRAQI FREEDOM 06-08.2; Operation IRAQI FREEDOM 09.1; Operation ENDURING FREEDOM 10.2; and 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit as the CENTCOM theater reserve.

His supporting establishment assignments include officer-in-charge, Enlisted Gunnery & Cannoneer Schools, Marine Artillery Detachment, Fort Sill, Oklahoma, and instructor/branch head, Tactical and Technical Branch, Field Artillery Captains Career Course, 1st Battalion of the 30th Field Artillery, Fort Sill, Oklahoma. 

Lieutenant Colonel Pattugalan’s military and civilian education include: US Army Field Artillery Officer Basic Course (with honors),  Marine Corps Expeditionary Warfare School (resident), Marine Corps Command and Staff Distance Education Program, Joint Targeting School Staff Planners Course, and MA in Administrative and Organizational Leadership, University of Oklahoma. Qualifications include: Joint Terminal Attack Controller, Mountain Warfare Instructor (Summer), and Operations and Tactics Instructor. 

Lieutenant Colonel Pattugalan’s personal awards and decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal with one Gold Star, and the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal with two Gold Stars. 

He is married to the former Lillian Walsh of Silver Spring, Maryland and has two children, Luke and Olivia.
