  • Activated 1 Nov 1940 in San Diego, CA
  • 1945 -1946 participated in combat actions at Guadalcanal, Tarawa, Saipan, Tinian, Okinawa, and the occupation of Japan
  • Relocated to CLNC in 1946, Deactivated in 1947 and Reactivated 1 Dec 1948
  • 1962 Participated in the Cuban Missile Crisis
  • 1971 served as a Civil Disturbance Bn for Anti-War demonstrations in Washington, D.C.
  • Late 1970's - early 1980's participated in multiple exercises in Europe ISO NATO
  • 1990’s participated in Operations Desert Shield / Desert Storm, Operations Support and Uphold Democracy in Haiti, and Operation Able Manner in the Florida Straits
  • Feb 2003 deployed to Kuwait ISO Operation Enduring Freedom
  • Mar – May 2003, 2004 - 2008 Elements participated in Operation Iraqi Freedom
  • 2010 – 2011 Participated in Operation Enduring Freedom, in Afghanistan
  • 2017 Elements participated in Operation Inherent Resolve, Syria
  • 2018 Participated in Disaster Relief efforts in response to Hurricane Florence
  • Aug – Dec 2021 Participated in Operation Allies Refuge and Operation Allies Welcome as part of Task Force Quantico
