Biography

Commanding Officer, 2d Battalion, 10th Marines
Lieutenant Colonel Scott J. Weibling

LtCol Weibling is a native of Oklahoma. He enlisted in the Marine Corps in 2003, serving in multiple billets within 1st Battalion 7th Marines before being assigned to Weapons Training Battalion, Quantico in 2007. In 2010, he was selected to attend Officer Candidate School through the Enlisted Commissioning Program.

After completion of the The Basic School and the Field Artillery Officer Basic Course, Second Lieutenant Weibling was assigned to 2nd Battalion 11th Marines. His billets included Platoon Commander within Headquarters Battery, deploying in support of OEF; Fire Direction Officer for Golf Battery; and Executive Officer for Echo Battery in support of the 31st MEU.

In 2014, First Lieutenant Weibling was selected to attend Expeditionary Warfare School through the Commandant's Career Level Education Board. After completion of PME, he was assigned as the Inspector-Instructor for Quebec Battery, 5th Battalion 14th Marines.

In 2018, Captain Weibling was assigned to 1st Battalion 11th Marines, serving as Battalion S3-A, Battery Commander for Charlie Battery, and Battalion S-4. In 2020, he was selected to attend the Naval Postgraduate School through the Commandant's Professional Intermediate Level Education Board.

After completing the degree requirements of the Defense Systems Analyst curriculum, Major Weibling was assigned to Ground Combat Systems Element within Marine Corps Systems Command. There he served on the Portfolio Staff as a Cost Analyst.

In 2024, Major Weibling received orders to serve as the Executive Officer for 1st Battalion 10th Marines.

In 2025, LtCol Weibling was reassigned to serve as the Operations Officer for 10th Marine Regiment. When the Regimental Headquarters deployed in support of a USSOUTHCOM mission to support the Department of Homeland Security aboard Naval Station Guantanamo Bay, LtCol Weibling assumed the role as Joint Task Force SOUTHERN GUARD J3 Director. During this period, he was selected to assume the role as Battalion Commander for 2nd Battalion 10th Marines in June of 2026.

LtCol Weibling's educational experience includes a BA in History and a MS in Management. Personal awards are the Purple Heart, Joint Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal with combat "V" (x4), and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (x5).
